Want to be a bite sized author?

John Oxton | 17 May 2006

Very soon we will be ready to start accepting new authors, and to give you a head start we thought we’d let you know what you need to do. You will need to write three articles which will go through a voting system. If all three are approved, you become an author—simple!

You don’t need to write and submit all three at once; thanks to Matthew Pennell we have a voting system that lets you submit your work over time and it automagically tallies your votes and tells us when you become an approved author.

So, if you want to take part, get writing—but don’t submit anything until news of how is posted here.

About the Author

John Oxton is a web developer based in the Cotswolds (UK), a distinctly Hobbition-like part of the world. He began designing and developing websites in 1999. In 2006 he co-authored Blog Design Solutions, a Friends of Ed book about, well, solutions to designing blogs.

Though often found trying to distance himself from it, there seems to be no escaping the fact that joshuaink.com is his foul-mouthed mess and no one else’s. If asked by a potential client, though, he officially blogs at johnoxton.co.uk which he will get around to finishing one day soon-ish.

Length is Bite Size, short, to the point. It’s about facts not personal opinion.

You can write about what you like as long as it follow a standard… not neccesarily a web standard, maybe a ‘best practice’ photoshop tip for instance.

I also want to give a try..

Are you publishing one of the three articles we submit or do we need to submit new content regularly after that three posts ?

If all three are voted, you become an author and they can be published, yes.

As for the regularity of your posts, that’s kind of up to you. We don’t have a list of authors so the more you post (or the more popular your post) the more exposure you get.
